Wow, its been a while since ive updated here, lots of other things going on in my life...

Well anyways, ive built the engine and its in place.

Homemade bracket for fiesta mk3.5 2.0 blacktop conversion

Not the best pic in the world, but thats my homemade bracket to enable to standard mk3.5 rear engine mount to be used when doing a blacktop conversion. Nicely spaced as you can see....!

Onto my next problem to overcome:

Need a small starter motor! Lack of space.

I like it tight, but dam thats a small space for a starter! Think im gnna have to go for something from a small engined fiesta!

Engine Ready To Build

My engine is ready to build. Such a mix and match of parts but should be fun! Heres what ive bought recently:

  • Brand new zetec blacktop 2.0 block
  • Brand new zetec blacktop head
  • 0.6mm Multi Layer Steel Elring headgasket
  • Elring bolts
  • FAI Rs1800 headset
  • Some spare inlet manifold gaskets
  • Conti timing belt kit
  • Ian Howels manual adjust timing belt pulley
  • Unsure of who its made by but a 4-1 manifold and downpipe

Parts from my old build that im using are my RS1800 throttle body/inlet manifold, 2.0 silvertop injectors. DEEP 2.0 mondeo ecu/maf and my KnN induction kit. Should be building this over the weekend, so will try to get some pics!

If anyone wants part numbers of what ive got, just leave i comment and i will let you know them!

Blacktop Zetec Manual Timing Belt Tensioner

This turned up for me today, a manual adjust timing belt tensioner for the blacktop engine. The standard one is an automatic adjust item and just doesn't look up to job.

Cross reference the numbers on the back of the tensioner, looks like its a old rover tensioner, with a spacer pressed onto the back. Should work a treat!
